Help Shape the Future
of Tourism in Fort Pierre

Fort Pierre residents are invited to share their ideas about the community’s future as a destination by completing the Fort Pierre Resident Tourism Survey, open now through Oct. 20.

The survey asks residents to weigh in on Fort Pierre’s strengths, opportunities and visitor experiences. Feedback will help guide future tourism planning, including ways to encourage visitors to spend more time in Fort Pierre, support local businesses and strengthen the experiences that make our community distinctive.

“Nobody knows Fort Pierre from the inside out better than the people who live here,” said Jasmin Fosheim of Fort Pierre Tourism. “We want residents to tell us what they love, what visitors may be missing and where they think we have room to grow. A strong response will give us a much clearer picture of what Fort Pierre wants its tourism future to look like.”

Fort Pierre is participating in Travel South Dakota’s Destination Development Program, working with Travel South Dakota and George Washington University’s International Institute of Tourism Studies to identify opportunities for thoughtful, long-term tourism growth.

The resident survey is one part of a broader effort to gather input from residents, businesses, community organizations, visitors and other stakeholders.

The survey closes Oct. 20. We encourage every Fort Pierre resident to participate and help shape what comes next.
